Dennis is somewhat of a rarity among attorneys He brings a great deal of real world experience to the practice of law At age 17 Dennis worked for Houston Construction Company building gas pumping stations for Tenneco in Staples Minnesota At age 19 Dennis worked for Houston Construction Company in Hattiesburg Mississippi as an iron worker Thereafter he worked at US Steel driving a charging crane in Gary Indiana At age 22 he successfully ran a clothing business for five years before going back to school to obtain his undergraduate degree Thereafter Dennis went to Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis and graduated from law school in 2 years These experiences help Dennis understand the daytoday grind that working people endure and the problems experienced by small business owners in owning and operating a business Dennis worked as a Marion County Deputy Prosecutor before entering private practice Dennis current practice focuses primarily on personal injury medical malpractice wrongful death and civil litigation Dennis has over 32 years of experience in representing people who have been wrongfully injured by the acts of individuals corporations and state and local government officials Dennis has tried cases in the United States District Court for both Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana as well as many state courts throughout Indiana Dennis has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit the Indiana Supreme Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals
